MACH 2024: The magnificent seven from Prosaw

The MACH exhibition is seen as the UK’s biggest platform to display new technology to the manufacturing industry.

This year at MACH 2024 Prosaw will launch seven new machines to the UK market. From the Sirius F1 pipe laser cutting machine and state of the art Gentiger GT- HS615C bandsaw, through to a dedicated machine built to remove additive manufactured (3D printed) components.

Sales director, Robert O’Brien comments: “Every time that the MACH exhibition comes around, we endeavour to show at least one or two new machines. This year will be like no other as we have several new additions to our range since the last show.”

UK manufacturing is moving at a fast pace, and sawing technology is continuing to move with it. In recent years the focus has been on speed of cutting as a way to increase production while also aiming to reduce costs with shorter working periods and lower energy consumption. This is combined with more and more automation and less manual movement of materials.

One of the machines Prosaw will be demonstrating to customers at MACH is the Karmetal Ultra 300 x 300. This machine has been designed from the ground up to run as the name indicates, at ultra-fast cutting rates. The machine uses the latest cutting technology from Karmetal combined with carbide tipped blades. It features Karmetal’s own developed sawing program which can even provide data on energy use – something customers are keen monitor.

Another of the machines which Prosaw will introduce to the UK market is the Bitron 300 3D Cut. This model has been designed and built speciï¬Âcally for processing 3D printed parts and has a quick action plate separating system for placement and removal of base plates.

With MACH having a dedicated 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing Zone, Prosaw is conï¬Âdent that visitors will want to see this machine in action.

One machine that has always excelled at MACH is the Mega CS carbide circular saw. For 2024 Mega has developed its next generation of machine, which incorporates many new features. The CS160N not only provides increased cutting capacity, but also a materials library which contains speeds and feeds for each metal. In addition, the machine now produces three times more power than previous models, with motor and gearbox innovations.

Laser cutting of pipes and tubes has been available for many years now, however for most the cost has been prohibitive. Ileir Teknik has developed the Sirius F1 as an entry into laser cutting of tubes at 90°. This fast and effective method can process pipe sizes from 16mm through to 60mm with power sources from 1kW up to 2kW. Using a plasma cutting head over a conventional blade sees a reduction in the amount of metal removed and cutting times more than halved.

“With only weeks remaining now until the doors open for another special week, we anticipate that with these new models, plus many more show favourites on display, it’s going to be yet another successful show for us.”
